A Multi-echelon Inventory System with Supplier Selection and Order Allocation under Stochastic Demand

چکیده
This article addresses the development of an integrated supplier selection and inventory control problems in supply chain management by developing a mathematical model for a multi-echelon system. In particular, a buyer firm that consists of one warehouse and N identical retailers wants to procure a product from a group of potential suppliers, which may require different price, ordering cost, lead time and have restriction on minimum and maximum total order size, to satisfy the stochastic demand. A continuous review system that implements the order quantity, reorder point (Q, R) inventory policy is considered in the model. The objective of the model is to select suppliers and to determine the optimal inventory policy that coordinates stock level between each echelon of the system while properly allocating orders among selected suppliers to maximize the expected profit. The model has been solved by decomposing the mixed integer nonlinear programming model into two sub-models. Numerical experiments are conducted to evaluate the model and some managerial insights are obtained by performing some sensitivity analysis.

Supplier Selection in Three Echelon Supply Chain & Vendor Managed Inventory Model Under Price Dependent Demand Condition
This paper, considers the supplier selection in three echelon supply chain with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) strategy under price dependent demand condition. As there is a lack of study on the supplier selection in VMI literature, this paper presents a VMI model in supply chain including multi supplier, one distributer and multi retailer that distributer selects suppliers. Two class models (t...
متن کاملPresenting a Multi Objective Model for Supplier Selection in Order to Reduce Green House Gas Emission under Uncertion Demand
Recently, much attention has been given to Stochastic demand due to uncertainty in the real -world. In the literature, decision-making models and suppliers' selection do not often consider inventory management as part of shopping problems. On the other hand, the environmental sustainability of a supply chain depends on the shopping strategy of the supply chain members. The supplier selection pl...
متن کاملReplenishment Strategies for Distribution Systems Under Advance Demand Information
Customers with positive demand lead times place orders in advance of their needs. A portfolio of customers with different demand lead times gives rise to what we call advance demand information. We develop effective inventory policies for a distribution system to account for this information. In particular, we study a centralized system with one warehouse serving multiple retailers under advanc...
متن کاملOptimal Control of One-warehouse Multi-retailer Systems with Discrete Demand
This paper considers a two-echelon distribution system which consists of a single warehouse serving N (possibly non-identical) retailers that face discrete stochastic demand of the customers. The warehouse orders from an exogenous supplier with ample stock. Orders arrive at the warehouse after a fixed leadtime. The warehouse satisfies, if possible, the replenishment requests from the retailers....
متن کاملAn Introduction to Hybrid Model Inventory Control with a Green Supplier Selection Model under Uncertainty
In the current decade, determining the most appropriate supplier as a strategic factor in the supply chain has attracted lots of consideration. On the other hand, organizations do necessary measures to implement green supply chain management in order to improve environmental and economic performance. An important way to implement green supply chain management, could be revising the method of pu...
